The so-called Time Variance Authority represents the dominant and strongest power in the new Marvel series ” Loki ” on Disney +.
The TVA officials, who are supposedly created by the 3 timekeepers, monitor the true timeline and destroy deviations. The main character, played by Tom Hiddleston, also learns that the TVA officers were created especially for their tasks by the timekeepers.
The newly published 3rd episode of “Loki” now reveals this as a lie. Loki’s variant Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) explains to the god of practical jokes and deception that the Minutemen soldier Hunter C-20 (Sasha Lane), who was captured and interrogated by her, was once “a normal person on earth, she loved margaritas.
Loki replied, “I’ve been told that everyone who works at TVA was created by the timekeepers.” Whereupon Sylvie says again: “That is ridiculous. They are all variants, like you and me.” And Loki concludes: “They don’t know.”
This short dialogue from “Loki” episode 3 now casts doubt on everything that viewers have heard about the TVA so far.
The TVA is “Loki”: Lots of discrepancies and secrets
Already in episode 2 of “Loki,” the rogue god asked about the files about the creation of the TVA, but did not get to see them because they were “confidential”.
The powerful TVA character Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), the boss of Agent Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson), also raises a lot of questions. In episode 2, Renslayer refuses to reveal the identity of her other analyst to Mobius.
Renslayer also maintains direct contact with the 3 mystical timekeepers, while Mobius has never seen them. If you also consider that Mobius firmly believes to have been created by the timekeepers, it can be said that the Time Variance Authority comes across as extremely suspicious.
The “Loki” variant Sylvie is also leading a campaign against the TVA and wants to break the rule of the powerful organization over the true timeline. For what reason she is doing this, “Loki” viewers do not yet know exactly.
It is also noticeable that Sylvie describes the TVA in episode 3 as an “omniscient, fascist” organization.
What is really going on at the TVA?
But what is actually going on behind the facade of the Time Variance Authority is still unclear after “Loki” episode 3. The timekeepers or characters like Ravonna Renslayer seem to have brainwashed the minutemen and officials of the organization into some sort of brainwashing that makes them forget their true past. Sylvie seems to be able to break this brainwashing.
It is conceivable that powerful figures pull the strings in the background, control everything and pursue their own intentions. Especially Kang the Conqueror, the great Marvel villain played by Jonathan Majors on phases 4 and 5 of the MCU, could already have an influence here.
Finally, in Marvel Comics, there is also a connection between Kang and the character Ravonna Renslayer, which can already be seen in “Loki”. We have already informed you about this elsewhere:
