Bonding Season 3 Renewed or Cancelled? Click to know

Bonding Season 3 Updates: Bonding, a dark comedy series that debuted on Netflix in April of this year, will not be renewed for a third season. The mature comedy was created by Rightor Doyle, who based the sitcom on his actual experience as a dominatrix’s bodyguard. Zoe Levin, Brendan Scannell, Micah Stock, and Theo Stockman starred in the series.

Naturally, given the show’s themes, the first season sparked debate on a number of fronts. The BDSM community, in particular, was not pleased with their depictions in the series, which was to be remedied in season 2.

However, the controversy appears to be fuelling the show’s success, and while we don’t have any figures, the series definitely drew enough viewers to warrant a second season.

Season 2 was announced in January 2020 and premiered in January 2021, a year later. This time, it joined with little fanfare. Netflix didn’t do anything with the show’s verified Twitter page other than changing the bio after it premiered. Before going dark on February 10th, 2021, the show’s Instagram feed received some love.

In comparison to the 1.7 million views on the first season trailer, the second season trailer only received roughly 250,000 views. Netflix’s trailer viewership often correlates with the show’s viewership, according to various sources.

Worse, Netflix’s top 10 feature, which debuted in March 2020, failed to record the show in the United States at all. That’s correct, Bonding didn’t even make the top 10 in the United States the day after its premiere, which is often when shows see the most growth in viewership.

Netflix confirmed to Deadline that Bonding would be discontinued in July 2021, along with a number of other comedies shows, albeit Bonding was the only show that wasn’t aimed at a family audience.

However, there is some good news. As part of a new development arrangement, Rightor Doyle will collaborate on future Netflix projects.

For a moment, I’d like to speak to you directly. The first season was fantastic. It appeared out of nowhere and was in a format that could be binge-watched in a matter of hours, wasting no time. The same could not be said for its second season, at least not for me.

As soon as we get feedback from the actors and crew, we’ll update this post.
